INTERNATIONAL PROFESSOR LECTURER : INTEGRATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN MEDICAL PRACTICE

Faculty of Medicine UPNVJT held an event, “International Professor Lecturer : Integration Of Artificial Intelligence In Medical Practice” at Thursday, 6 November 2025 via zoom meeting. Inviting expert speaker from Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Prof. Kamarul Hawari bin Ghazali, Ph.D., this lecture emphasizing the transformative impact of emerging technologies on healthcare. He highlighted how AI is revolutionizing diagnostics, treatment planning, and patient monitoring, leading to faster and more accurate clinical decisions. In practical, its mandatory to balancing innovation with ethics and patient privacy as healthcare systems increasingly adopt digital solutions.
The event started with a remarkable speech from Prof. dr. Hj. Rika Yuliwulandari, M.Hlt.Sc., M.MB., Sp.KKLP., Subsp.FOMC., Ph.D. (Dean of FK UPNVJT). The sepaker shared groundbreaking examples of AI applications in radiology, pathology, even on surgery. He explained how machine learning algorithms are now capable of detecting diseases such as cancer and diabetes at earlier stages, significantly improving patient outcomes. However, he also cautioned that technology should complement — not replace — the expertise of medical practitioners, noting that human judgment remains vital in complex medical cases. The professor encouraged local universities and hospitals to invest in AI training programs to ensure future doctors are equipped for this digital era.
The lecture followed by interactive discussion lead by moderator, dr. Wayan Dhea Agastya, Sp.An, M.Ked.Klin. The importance to learning AI, as a tool for development of healthcare equipment and service, need to monitor closely, so it can be align with the fundamental moral principles of medical practice . The partnerships between academia, industry, and government agencies to foster research and develop ethical frameworks is mandatory so it can guide the use of AI in medicine. As a reminder, the future of healthcare lies in the intelligent fusion of human compassion and technological precision.
